Polycythemia vera Is a chronic myeloproliferative disease characterized by a clonal
proliferation that arises at the level of the pluripotent stem cells. myocardial infarction is
most often due to atherosclerosis. But it may occur in patients without atherosclerosis.
Occasionally, myocardial infarction may be the initial episode of any hematologic
disorders. A main factor responsible for the myocardial ischemia in these conditions is
blockage of small coronary vessels by abnormal platelet aggregates.
We report here the case of occurrence of myocardial infarction In a patient with polycythemia vera.
Keywords Acute myocardial Infarction, Polycythemia vera
