Abstract

The authors experienced two patients with aplastic anemia developed after ingestion of Ganoderma lucidum. So we report these cases with brief review of literature.
The two patients, spouses, were hospitalized for the chief complaints of fever, chill, and petechiae in the skin. These spouses had ingested Ganoderma lucidum for a year.
Under the diagnosis of aplastic anemia with lung abscess and acute pharyngotonsilitis as a result of PB smear, bone marrow biopsy and chest X-ray, we could observe the
process of recovery from aplastic anemia and infection with supportive treatment.
