Abstract

We introduced microwave stimulated method for peroxidase, sudan black B(SBB), acid
phospha-tase, non-specific esterase and periodic acid-Schiff(PAS) stain for bone marrow
aspiration smears and Romanowsky-Giemsa stain of plastic embbedded bone marrow
section to reduce time. The microwave method reduced reaction times from 7-60
minutes of conventional methods to 2-10 minutes, that resulted in 24-77% reduction of
whole staining time. The staining intensity and the quality are almost equal to those of
conventional methods. We accepted microwave stimulated method as our routine
procedures of cytochemical stainings of bone marrow aspiration smears and plastic
embedded bone marrow section.
