Four Cases of Idiopathic Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia in Children

Abstract

Four cases of idiopathic autoimmune hemolytic anemia were presented. Age at onset ranged from 5 months to 7 years. The sex-ratio was 3 : 1, three males and one female.
Thrombocytopenic purpura occurred in one female patient, who expired from bleeding.
In two patient, the administration of prednisolone resulted in prompt response of hemolytic anemia. In one patient, fulminant hepatitis occurred during the course of
hemolytic anemia, which aggravated his clinical course. He was discharged hopelessly against medical advice.
